Session Title: Preparation for Streaming

Location: Rm. 261, Irving K. Barber Learning Centre (IKBLC)

Session Description: This session will provide a brief look at streaming media for the academic audience. Obtaining the content, licensing, and managing the content and licenses will be explored. The types of options available for delivering streaming will be discussed, followed by a review of the process to get setup for streaming, from the B.C. perspective. All the players on the team will be reviewed, as there needs to be several positions that must be supportive to the process. The final goal is to provide access to video content to students and instructors, no matter where they wish to view it.

Presenter Bio: Media copyright, digital rights and educational media have been Susan Weber’s area of expertise. She has been the media librarian and coordinator of Advanced Education Media Acquisitions Centre (AEMAC) at Langara College for 18 years.
