Session Title: Making Open Work

Time & Date: 3:05 P.M. – 4:00 P.M., Thursday, June 18, 2009

Location: Rm. 182, Irving K. Barber Learning Centre (IKBLC)

Session Description: This collaboratory session will compare and contrast the Open Educational Resource efforts of CeLC keynote Richard Baraniuk’s Connexions project with that of BCcampus. Participants will be asked to engage in discussion that compares and contrasts the two initiatives across five dimensions:

  1. Legal
  2. Technology
  3. Business Model
  4. Academic Socio/Cultural
  5. Policy

Discussion will focus on generating strategies and recommendations for evolving the BCcampus OER initiative to generate greater participation and utilization.

Presenter Bio: Paul Stacey is the Director of Development and Professional Services at BCcampus where he leads system wide initiatives around collaborative curriculum development and educator development.
